“Student accommodation schemes can be extremely controversial. Prior to Curtin&Co’s involvement, our previous student accommodation application was refused by members. From this, we understood the need for political and community engagement. I appointed Curtin&Co and from the beginning was impressed with their effective consultation. The ward members were originally negative however by the end they actively supported the proposals. Curtin&Co engaged with the student population to generate positive support. This included meeting with the President and Student Accommodation Officer of the University’s Student Union and canvassing local students to provide tangible evidence of a local need for greater student accommodation.
